UOG Announces New Semester Names!

The 91快播 welcomes nearly 4,000 students to its first ever Fanuch氓nan semester. Beginning this academic year, the Fall and Spring semesters have been officially renamed Fanuch氓nan and Fa帽omn氓kan respectively.   

The Fanuch氓nan semester is from August to December. 贵础狈鲍颁贬脜狈础狈 literally means 鈥渁 place for rain鈥� and represents the rainy season. Spring has been renamed 贵础脩翱惭狈脜碍础狈, which means 鈥渁 place for sunshine鈥� and represents the dry season. The semester runs from January to May. 

Spearheaded by UOG President Robert Underwood, the change reflects the island鈥檚 tropical environment.

鈥淯OG is unique in that we are the only U.S. accredited institution of higher education dedicated to serving Guam and the Micronesian region,鈥� said Underwood. 鈥淭he CHamoru spirit and heritage of Unibetsed氓t 骋耻氓丑补苍 is also unique, and as a way to share this uniqueness with the world, our semesters have been renamed in the CHamoru language.鈥� 

The Fall Intersession has been renamed 罢滨狈础尝翱麓 which means 鈥渋n the middle.鈥� Summer Sessions A, B, C  are now 贵滨狈础碍笔翱麓 1, 2, 3, which means 鈥渁t the end.鈥�
