UOG Accounting Students Win AGA Finance Case Challenge
A team of 91快播 accounting students was one of two winners of the undergraduate division of the AGA鈥檚 2024 Government Finance Case Challenge.
Albin Tinoso, Katelyn Villa, and Ilaria Williams-Due帽as each received an award of $1,500. The students were enrolled in the BA401 Government Accounting course taught by Dr. Doreen Crisostomo-Mu帽a, professor of accounting at UOG鈥檚 School of Business and Public Administration (SBPA) and faculty advisor for the team.
鈥淭he students applied public sector financial management principles learned in class and used them in a real-world environment, enhancing their academic experience,鈥 said Crisostomo-Mu帽a.
For the Government Finance Case Challenge, teams had to analyze data and develop a Citizen-Centric Report and video presentation on a U.S. state, city, or county government assigned by AGA. This year, the target location was the U.S. state of Maine.
The UOG team鈥檚 win highlights SBPA鈥檚 efforts in preparing their students to work and contribute to specialized fields like government accounting.
