UOG Names Peralta Vice Provost of Research

Peralta, who has served in the vice provost role in an interim capacity since November 2023 and as Director of Grants and Contracts since 2020, brings more than 13 years of federal grant experience in Micronesia, along with a career spanning higher education, organizational leadership, and public service. She has overseen more than $60 million annually in research proposals and awards at UOG and has led initiatives to strengthen compliance, interdisciplinary collaboration, and faculty and student research opportunities.

Peralta鈥檚 leadership and proven record in securing and supporting competitive grants and contracts will advance UOG鈥檚 role as a trusted source of knowledge and innovation.鈥�
 
As vice provost, Peralta oversees the Office of Research & Sponsored Programs and provides strategic direction for securing competitive funding, fostering partnerships, and guiding UOG鈥檚 nine research centers, which include the Guam EPSCoR, Marine Laboratory, Water and Environmental Research Institute, Center for Island Sustainability, Micronesian Area Research Center, and the Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service. She also chairs the University Research Council and supports efforts to grow research in areas such as terrestrial and marine biology, climate resilience, island sustainability, cultural preservation, and public health.

Peralta holds a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Argosy University Hawaii, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix Hawaii, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Mills College with additional credentials in grants management and strategic management.
 
Beyond her administrative leadership, Peralta has served as principal investigator or co-principal investigator on multiple federal awards, including projects funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the National Science Foundation, and the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration.
