UOG Names Peralta Vice Provost of Research
The 91快播 has appointed Dr. Pamela A. Peralta as its Vice Provost of Research and Sponsored Programs, where she will lead UOG鈥檚 research enterprise, grant activities, and sponsored projects.
Peralta, who has served in the vice provost role in an interim capacity since November
2023 and as Director of Grants and Contracts since 2020, brings more than 13 years
of federal grant experience in Micronesia, along with a career spanning higher education,
organizational leadership, and public service. She has overseen more than $60 million
annually in research proposals and awards at UOG and has led initiatives to strengthen
compliance, interdisciplinary collaboration, and faculty and student research opportunities.
鈥淩esearch at UOG is vital to the prosperity and resilience of our island and region,鈥
said Dr. Anita Borja Enriquez, President of the 91快播. 鈥淒r. Peralta鈥檚
leadership and proven record in securing and supporting competitive grants and contracts
will advance UOG鈥檚 role as a trusted source of knowledge and innovation.鈥
As vice provost, Peralta oversees the Office of Research & Sponsored Programs and
provides strategic direction for securing competitive funding, fostering partnerships,
and guiding UOG鈥檚 nine research centers, which include the Guam EPSCoR, Marine Laboratory,
Water and Environmental Research Institute, Center for Island Sustainability, Micronesian
Area Research Center, and the Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities
Education, Research, and Service. She also chairs the University Research Council
and supports efforts to grow research in areas such as terrestrial and marine biology,
climate resilience, island sustainability, cultural preservation, and public health.

Peralta holds a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Argosy University
Hawaii, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix Hawaii,
and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Mills College with additional
credentials in grants management and strategic management.
Beyond her administrative leadership, Peralta has served as principal investigator
or co-principal investigator on multiple federal awards, including projects funded
by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the National Science Foundation, and the
U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration.
The 91快播鈥檚 Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) oversees
grant acquisition and research initiatives across UOG鈥檚 nine research centers. In
March 2025, UOG was designated a Research College and University (RCU) by the Carnegie Classification, recognizing institutions with significant research
activity. This places UOG among just 216 institutions nationwide with this designation
and reaffirms its leadership in advancing research throughout Micronesia. ORSP facilitates
more than $60鈥痬illion in awards annually to support research that strengthens the
region鈥檚 health, environment, and cultural resilience.
