UOG Tritons and Phantoms win matches in Triton League

The Phantoms opened the evening with a 3-0 sweep of the Titans. After playing poorly in a 0-3 loss to Southern Sutteru on Tuesday, the Phantoms showed a new attitude and captured the first set 25-19.

The Titans, as they have done before, turned to their reserves in the second set, and the Phantoms took full advantage, cruising to a 25-13 win. In the third set, the Titans reinserted their starters and pushed the Phantoms to the limit, but the Phantoms prevailed 27-25 to close out the match.

The Phantoms now sit at 1-1 on the season, while the Titans fell to 0-2.

In the nightcap, the UOG Tritons remained unbeaten with a 3-0 victory over the Andersen Bombers. UOG controlled the match from start to finish, winning 25-20, 25-17, and 25-16.

UOG is now 3-0 in the Triton League while the Bombers opened their season and are 0-1.

The Triton Men鈥檚 Volleyball League returns next Tuesday with two matches:

6:30 p.m. 鈥� Andersen Bombers vs. Phantoms
8:15 p.m. 鈥� Titans vs. Southern Sutteru

These will be the only two matches played in the Triton League next week.
